Cookies for CAMTA!

Since CAMTA's first Mission 18 years ago, Terry Humphry, mother of CAMTA co-founder Barb Moreau, has baked dozens of cookies to send along for the Mission volunteers. The cookies would first appear at the airport at 4AM on departure day, passed amongst barely awake travelers. The cookie bags would reappear on the bus home from long days at the hospital or whenever the team needed a sugar rush or a “hug” from home. There seemed to be an unending supply!

Sadly, Terry passed away last year, but family and friendsare continuing this delicious tradition in her memory.

Barb's daughter, Colette and two of her kids, Jack and Wallace, and Barb's long-time friend Bonny Hodgson got together today to bake dozens of cookies for the Teams.

Week One Layperson Peggy Prodor is baking up some of her favourite recipes, too, and Week Two Physiotherapist Barb Furler and her mom and sister will be whipping up several batches for our second group.

What a wonderful way to remember a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother – by continuing to send Terry's love with our volunteers in Quito.
