This is Danna Valentina, but she goes by Vale
Vale listens to Damaris Gaete Ortega (Translator) as she helps explain the pre-op assessments required before surgery
Two-year-old Vale lives in Quito with her family of four. Vale's hips did not develop properly so learning how to stand was difficult as her legs would consistently give out on her. Although she was eventually able to walk short distances with a limp, she was unable to run due to pain. Initially, Vale's parents were told that the social service system might provide support; however, when they approached social services they were denied. Both of her hips were corrected during surgery, and once they heal, she should be able to run and play pain-free with her friends.
