Anita — a six year old

Andrea Andrachuk is a lay person participating for the first time from Victoria, B.C.She's been enjoying the mission – at least I'm sure she is because she's beaming from ear to ear.

Here's what Andrea reports:
Today I made a very special friend, Anita. She is six and had surgery for her spina bifida. Before she went down for surgery we spent time in the ward waiting and finding fun things to do.

We made balloon animals and she delivered them to the other patients. She was such a joy and a blessing to everyone who met her. She is smart and warm and very brave.

I'm so lucky to have met her and glad that I was able to make her feel comfortable and unafraid as she prepared to go into the operating room. She is certainly the highlight of my trip.Andrea  -lay person
