Where we are

Did you know that Quito was one of the first designated UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Sites? Quito sits at an elevation of 9,350 feet making it the second highest capital city in the world! Being fairly close to the equator, Quito has a relatively cool and constant climate – right now we are sitting at a warm 17 degrees with scattered clouds. Quito's city centre (Old Quito) is home to several beautiful churches and cathedrals such as: Basilica del Voto Nacional, Cathedral of Quito, Church of La Compañía de Jesús and the Church of San Fransisco, to name a few. Up on a hill (El Panecillo) at 9, 895 feet is a monument of the Virgin Mary based upon a 1732 sculpture by Bernardo de Legarda.

Today our team had the chance to journey outside of the city to the market of Otavalo and Cotacachi, The Pululahua Geobotanical Reserve and Cloud forest, or the Hot Springs of Las Termas de Papallacta.
