Set Up For Success

Day one at Hospital Padre Carollo involves far more than seeing patients. In addition to clinical responsibilities, extensive preparation must take place to ensure the weeks ahead run efficiently. Multiple departments are mobilizing simultaneously, each responsible for unpacking equipment, organizing supplies and configuring workspaces. This year our team brought 63 hockey bags full of supplies with us from Canada.

Meet the Week One Physio Team

Our Week One Physiotherapy team is comprised of three exceptional and dedicated women who bring both clinical expertise and compassionate care to every patient encounter. This dynamic trio combines extensive knowledge with constant encouragement, ensuring each patient feels supported throughout their recovery journey.

Following surgery these physiotherapists play a critical role in mobilization and rehabilitation. Through carefully structured exercise programs tailored to each individual, they help patients regain strength, gain mobility, and build confidence. Their work lays the foundation for healing and empowers patients to safely transition into life after surgery with renewed independence.

Tender Care After Surgery

Our Recovery Room team is a vital part of CAMTA’s surgical care pathway. They are the first faces patients see after leaving the operating room. In the recovery area, patients remain under close observation until they meet established criteria for transfer to the ward, including stable vital signs, effective pain control, and adequate respiratory function. The recovery team ensures every patient transitions safely and comfortably to the next stage of recovery.
