One of the many tasks of the CAMTA lay team is to prepare instrument trays for surgery. At home, this is all done by machine. For an adult hip that’s about 3 trays of 30 instruments. In Quito, a team of eagle-eyed volunteers wash, dry, package and wrap every piece by HAND to get them ready for sterilization…talk about attention to detail!
