Smith & Nephew

For over a decade, Smith & Nephew (a global medical supplier) has been donating most of the hip prostheses and surgical instruments for CAMTA missions. Smith & Nephew have a strong philanthropic presence – donating supplies to several mission groups over the past few years.

 

This year, Smith & Nephew sent sales representative, Peter Hackett to participate in Week 1 of the CAMTA 2020 mission. Peter is from the Edmonton branch of Smith & Nephew and usually works in the OR to support nursing staff with surgical sets provided by the company. Peter has commented how lucky he feels to be a part of such a generous company. He has also appreciated being able to follow patients pre- and post- operatively to get a more complete picture of the value of both the equipment and the surgeries patients receive. The donations that CAMTA receives from Smith & Nephew make up a huge portion of our yearly budget. We would not be able to reach the number of patients we do if it were not for Smith & Nephew.
