Do you remember our first patient Miguel?

Our first patient of this mission, Miguel, had a hip replacement done yesterday. Today he will be going home. Miguel had a condition known as osteoarthritis or OA. OA is a degenerative disease in which the cartilage (or cushion) of a joint is broken down. This can progress to the point where bone begins to grind on bone when an individual moves that joint. OA is a painful, debilitating and an unfortunately common condition. Miguel and his son ride horses and Miguel wanted nothing more than to return to what he loves to do most after surgery.

Before Miguel left the hospital, he spent about 15 minutes writing a thank you letter for his surgery and expressed his overwhelming gratitude.
