The operating rooms (week 2) are open for business

The OR suites were ready for work.  Our first adult patient for week 2 was Maria Abigail Garcia.  Maria, a 71 year old resident of Quito has been experiencing debilitating hip pain for about 10 months.  She came in to the CAMTA clinic to get her mobility back.  

Maria was led into surgery by Dr. Tim Kostamo and OR RN Cathleen Clarke with translation assistance from Jay Valencia. 

Her operation began around 8:45 in the morning; and she was up and taking her first steps at 3:00 pm the same day.  She was happy and doing well waving to all of the people as she made her way along the hall.
