Canadian Tire to the rescue!
Over the past few years, Vancouver-based CAMTA Adult OR Nurse Kathy Bonitz has been accepting donations of uniforms, towels and instrument wrappers from K-Bro Linen Systems in Burnaby, BC. Kathy had a CAMTA hockey bag full of the K-Bro linens in her car trunk this week when someone smashed the car window, popped her trunk and stole the hockey bag!
“I was despairing that all was lost, but happened to look across the street and there were the three bags of linen, minus the hockey bag!”
Kathy went to the Canadian Tire on Grandview Highway in Vancouver to buy another bag and, as she was paying for it, asked the cashier if there was any chance Canadian Tire would donate the bag to CAMTA. The cashier suggested Kathy write a letter, which she did on the spot. A couple of days later, there was a brand new hockey bag waiting for Kathy at the store.
Many thanks to Canadian Tire for coming to our rescue! (and if anyone happens to spot a hockey bag with a white #13 and a CAMTA baggage tag in the Burnaby area, we'd love to get it back!!)
