A little bit of CAMTA Magic to start our Clinic Day
We were greeted this morning by Dustin and Damon – local indentical twin brothers who have been a special part of CAMTA since the early days. When Dustin was an infant, his mother brought him to one of the very first Clinic Days that CAMTA ever held in Quito. Dustin presented at birth with Club Foot Deformity, and thankfully was treated by Dr. Marc Moreau. The brothers visit our CAMTA missions annually, and have become a part of the family – even visiting legacy CAMTA members back in Canada. This year, however, the duo did not return for a visit, but rather to lend a helping hand by volunteering as translators. Now, age 16 and bilingual, Dustin and Damon are paying it forward, ensuring that others in their community are able to gain access to the medical care that CAMTA is here to provide. Dustin plans to attend medical school, with aspirations of becoming an orthopaedic surgeon, inspired by the work that Dr. Moreau and his colleagues have done for the members of his community. His brother Damon plans to become an engineer.
