Shoehorn Spree!

One of the many challenges faced by a patient in need of a hip replacement is putting on shoes. It hurts to bend before the surgery when the hip joint is arthritic, and there are precautions about how far one can bend over in the weeks following a hip replacement.

Five-time CAMTA volunteer Brenda Corie's brother-in-law Norm Chwaklinski understands the frustration. Norm recently had his hip replaced in Edmonton. Ikea's long handled shoehorns provided a practical solution to the shoe problem.

Now Norm and his wife Alana (Brenda's sister) have generously purchased 100 long-handled shoehorns to send to Quito for CAMTA's hip replacement patients- enough shoehorns for several Missions!!

A BIG thanks goes out to Norm and Alana Chwaklinski for their thoughtful generosity.
