CAMTA Ingenuity

Occasionally, a nerve is stretched during surgery. This happened today with Celia, one of our adult patients. Celia will have a temporary foot drop problem. In Canada, an orthotist would custom fit a drop foot ankle brace to pull her toes upwards while the nerve heals.
For CAMTA, ingenuity is key. No foot drop ankle brace available? We'll make one. The physiotherapists built one out of foam pieces, velcro, parts of the key rings we got as gifts in the parking lot on Sunday, and a buckle – all hand sewn together.
