Off to Bonnyville…

Today we'll hook the borrowed LCD projector up to the laptop, tie in a pair of speakers and see how the DVD plays. It's always best to be sure the equipment is functional before a big presentation!
On Monday we'll drive up to Bonnyville (300km) and join up with Janet Roberts to make a presentation at the Bonnyville Lioness Club.
Janet is a physiotherapist in the Aspen Health Region. This will be her first year of participation with CAMTA and she has made contact with the Lioness Club in the hopes that they will like our project and support the mission to Ecuador in February.
The DVD the club members will see was filmed by the CBC during the 2006 mission. The reporter was Kim Trynacity and she has become a big fan of CAMTA. The DVD is a heart-grabber. People are always impressed by the work that the team does in Ecuador. What they see are the smiles on the faces of the patients and their loved ones.
The chance of getting your surgery in Ecuador is slim! If you have money — and very few do — there are private hospitals. But most people are working hard to meet their day to day needs. And if a family member can't function then the load falls onto the other family members. Health means everything; whether it is Ecuador or Canada.
And so off to Bonnyville we go!
I'll let you know what the trip was like early next week.
