A different type of power
What do you do when the power goes out at the hospital, and are only have a finite amount of time to operate on patients?
You do what you need to do to get your patient to her surgery two stories below.
Dr. Gessner and Dr. Wright with their patient
With the power at the hospital out, and backup power reserved for the emergency and operating rooms, an assessment was made to carry the 87 year old patient to her operation. This allowed us to keep our surgeries on schedule since CAMTA only can schedule so many surgeries while here.
Thankfully our patient, at 87 years old, is still active and enjoys horseback riding. With Dr. Wright serving as her lift service to the OR, she was on time where the surgical team performed a unilateral hip replacement. The procedure went flawless and Dr. Wright will be excited to watch her walk out of the hospital under her own power!
