Part of clinic day is the one year post-op follow up exam

Not all of the time on clinic day is preparing for the work in the upcoming week. Some of it is connecting with and assessing the progress of past patients and renewing friendships built up over past Missions.
Nelson was a young man of 16 years of age when he first came into the CAMTA clinic. He had an aggressive infection from a childhood incident that had eaten away the head of his femur. Now with a new hip he is walking with ease and has a new lease on life.
Denise Munoz, who had lived with hip issues from the age of 1, also received a hip replacement last year and is doing great.
Anna Hebert, Denise Munoz and Alex Smolinski are all roses.
Dustin, Jenny and Carmen are all smiles.
Carmen, Dustin and Jenny are all CAMTA alumni. Dustin had club foot surgery when he was about a year old, and now he and his twin brother Damon are volunteering as translators! Jenny had hip surgery 4 years ago and is also a volunteer translator. Carmen, who missed her one year follow up exam, came in today 16 years after receiving two new hips from CAMTA's initial Mission. Her mobility is still very good. Well enough that she recently spent time hiking on Cotopaxi. While she did not go to the summit, she has the picture at 4,864 metres to prove that she still has energy to spare.
Carmen still on the move.
