Gabriel exuded pure happiness

Gabriel draws some pictures for the CAMTA team while in pre-op

Five-year-old Gabriel has moved around quite a bit during his life. His family has lived in 5 different cities including Cuenca, Guayaquil, and Santo Domingo, constantly moving in an attempt to seek treatment for Gabriel's foot. He was born with a rare congenital deformity called vertical talus and his condition was initially misdiagnosed as club foot by doctors since it is such a rare condition. Gabriel's family recently moved to Quito seeking another medical opinion, as they heard that hospitals here may be able to help. Once they moved here, their new neighbor told them about CAMTA after seeing a TV advertisement. Gabriel is one of the happiest children we had the pleasure of meeting this week, and we hope that his corrected foot will only make him happier. The only thing Gabriel loves more than stickers are Saturday morning cartoons; especially the Avengers. His favourite superhero? Iron Man.
