Let's check back in with Digna

Krystle Chilibecki (Physiotherapist), Digna, Alex Cerezo
(Translator), and Ryan Titley (Adult Ward Nurse)

When you first met Digna, she was in the recovery room after her total hip replacement. Today was post-op day one for her, and she was up roaming the halls with the biggest smile on her face. Our team of physiotherapists worked with Digna and her husband to determine what her activities of daily living are and created a rehabilitation program tailored to her individual needs. After walking down the entire hallway of the 3rd floor ward (roughly 100 feet), she set her sights on her ultimate test: CAMTA'sStairway to Discharge. Patients must be able to handle these steps before being released from the hospital, and Digna passed with flying colours. She plans to return to CAMTA next year for her second hip replacement and bring along some of her delicious Seco de Chivo.

Digna walks while getting used to the pair of crutches that she is given to take home

Krystle and Digna are joined by another physiotherapist, Joanne Montgomery, to practice the stairs

At Digna's request, she is surrounded by her surgical team hours before her discharge for a photo that she will cherish forever
