A look behind the Scenes on Day 6

There is lots of activity going on behind the scenes on the CAMTA mission. Here is a look at Day 6 and what keeps the operation going beyond the OR and the Ward.

Mission Control: Tracking patient information, surgeries, ordering supplies. These guys make it all happen and keep everyone organized. From left, Jim Raso (IT), Aline Young (Administration) and Sandra Getuba (lay person).

 

Every morning the team has do an inventory of the laundry. Scrubs, wrappers and linen are laundered every night by the hospital staff and returned to the CAMTA team first thing in the morning.

CAMTA team members, Sandra Henkel, Wendy Read and April Ivess packing gift bags for the patients. Each patient receives a bag with a blanket, facecloth, toothbrush, dental floss, a deck of cards, a pen and the children also receive in addition, a plush toy, some colours and colouring books.

Cleaning the surgical instruments is a dirty job but someone's gotta do it. Students Alex Webb and Scott Moorman in a game of rock-paper-scissors to decide on who gets to wash or dry. Scott won this one!!!

Man on a Mission: Matthew Moreau is the logistics coordinator on this mission. He does everything from making sure that everyone knows where they are supposed to be, to arranging transportation and dinners, overseeing patient flow and liaising with the hotel staff on behalf of team members.
