CAMTA kicks off the 2013 Mission with a busy Clinic day

The CAMTA team arrives at Hospital Parde Carollo “un canto a la vida” for the first of two Clinic days during week one of the 2013 Mission. This is CAMTA's 13th Mission to Ecuador with almost 100 volunteers dedicating their time and talent. 

 

The waiting room is full of patients who in some cases travelled for six or seven hours, hopeful that the CAMTA team will change their lives.

 

Matthew Moreau walks the team through the Flow Control procedure prior to opening the Clinic. With the number of patients in the waiting room, it is crucial that they are efficiently moved through the various points of their assessment. The team will not leave until the last patient has been seen. 

 

Little Maite is one of the first of 35 children and 20 adults that were assessed during the day. She is having her picture taken for her patient file. Then she is off to see the surgeon who will determine if she is ready for surgery. 

 

Dr. Moreau and Dr. Gupta examine two months old baby Scarleth while her mother looks on expectantly. 

 

At the end of a long day, 20 months old Abigail waits patiently while pediatric nurse Sabrina Brown takes notes on her medical history.
