I just had to tell you…
Ricki-Dawn Bennett Ricki is a wonderful person. Not only does she know her work but she is a warm and empathetic woman. Ricki is the sort of person who catches on fast to what's up. I asked her if she could help with ordering our surgical supplies for Ecuador last year and she was quite willing to help. But this year it has been a stupendous task. We depleted the warehouse substantially this last year because our 2007 mission doubled in size over the previous missions. The warehouse shelves were bare! And thus there were many more needs this year. Ricki's expertise about the Capital Health ordering system worked wonders for us. CAMTA has an account with Capital Health so that we can purchase supplies. Ricki has a 10 year old son. He's big time into ice hockey and his team did quite well in the recent Minor Hockey League competition. Ricki would like to volunteer next year again — but she wants to come to Ecuador. In her previous career she was a surgical processor. She knows all about the appropriate methods of cleaning and sterilizing equipment. This is invaluable knowledge. If Ricki wants to come to Ecuador we can use her! Thanks a million for all your help this year from the whole CAMTA team. And you are now a part of that team — that's for sure!!! The next blog entry will be from QUITO. Let the mission begin……
