More Mobility For Teen
Marcos Javier Jacome Merchancano, 16, has Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. This disease affects lower limbs and sometimes hands as well. His feet have high arches and he needs braces on his ankles to stand and walk.
The first photos show his feet before surgery.

During several procedures on Thursday March 5th Marcos had the bones in both of his feet rearranged. One foot is twisted and that was also corrected.

The third photo is of an x-ray that shows k-wires in his feet, that will be removed in 45 days.
Marco will not be able to walk during that time and will have to “bum” his way up and down stairs with his mother holding his feet up. We’re told there are twenty stairs to get into his home. CAMTA has loaned him a wheelchair.
