Mary Klute

Hello! I am a registered nurse at the Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta. This is my first year volunteering with CAMTA, and I am so honored and excited to have this opportunity! Since deciding to pursue a career in healthcare, it has been longstanding goal and dream of mine to volunteer internationally. The CAMTA team will be traveling to Quito, Ecuador in February 2019. My role on the team will be providing nursing care to pediatric orthopedic surgical patients. CAMTA performs surgeries for children born with conditions such as club foot and hip dysplasia. As you can imagine, this work has a life altering impact for children who would otherwise never have the opportunity to see a pediatric orthopedic surgeon. The CAMTA team will also perform orthopedic surgeries for adult patients in Ecuador. However, in order to make this trip a reality, we need your help! I have a fundraising goal of $3200. Your contribution is not just going towards my personal travel costs; this money is used to pay for travel, accommodations, and food for the team, as well as purchasing medical and surgical supplies. No amount is too small or too big (although donations of $20 and up are tax deductible!). I am confident that I will return home with many amazing photos and stories to share. Thank-you so much in advance for choosing to support CAMTA!
