The far reaching effect of a mission…

Doris shows two little Ecuadorean girls their photo. (March 2005)

Three years ago, Doris Mandrusiak RN participated in a CAMTA mission to the Tierra Nueva. She was a member of the adult surgical orthopedic nursing team.

After she returned home she made a presentation to her daughter's Grade Two class about her experience. She showed pictures and obviously spoke enthusiastically about the work.

Recently, Doris' daughter who is now 10 years old was at school and the teacher asked everybody to talk about their choice of a future career. Her daughter said that she would like to be a teacher. But a schoolmate said that she wanted to be a nurse. When she was asked why, she stated: “I want to be a nurse because Mrs. Mandrusiak told us about being a nurse in Ecuador. Ever since then I've wanted to be a nurse!”

Her dream has lasted three years. Doris must have given a very impassioned talk to that class of Grade two students!

How's that for a long range positive impact of a CAMTA Ecuador mission?

Thanks.
